GIVING TO BRENTWOOD
Some Opening words on Giving
The Brentwood Alumni and Philanthropy Association Scholarship Fund (APASF) is an endowed fund established in 2009 that aims to benefit current Brentwood students. All donations directed to the APASF are allocated and distributed by financial aid to students with financial need. To receive support from the APASF, a current Brentwood student must have applied for, and qualified for, financial aid. 100% of the money donated to the APASF will go to benefit current Brentwood students!
Why Give?
A few years ago the school budget had allocated over 42% of funding to Brentwood Scholars. Currently, only a meager 18% of the budget is direct toward the scholarship program. The APASF was established for several reasons. First, it fits in perfectly with the overall movement of the Brentwood Alumni Philanthropy Association toward an emphasis on engagement and philanthropy. There are many ways for alumni and philanthropy to 'give back' to our school. None are more clearly defined and important than helping meritorious students afford to continue their educations at Brentwood .
Secondly, the current economic situation makes it increasingly important for Brentwood to find ways to increase the level of financial aid available to students. As the cost of education continues to climb, families of Brentwood students are facing increasing costs for basic necessities, dwindling savings accounts and investment resources, and decreasing opportunities for securing student loans.
How to Give Want to honor someone who made difference in your life
A donation to the scholarship fund in the name of a professor, staff member, or family member is an excellent way to express your gratitude. The honored individual will receive a letter informing them of your thoughtfulness, and will be listed in an issue of the Brentwood Brentins Herald magazine . Additionally, all donors to the APASF will be recognized in Brentasia Magazine.
Be a permanent part of the Brentwood Alumni House. All donors who make a gift of $1,000 or more will be listed on the APASF donor wall in our beautiful alumni home. Individuals who contribute at this level will also qualify for Chancellor's Council Benefits
